For a great opportunity to experience a taste of Bundaleer Forest Weekend, head along to Jamestown on Friday, March 27, for the event kick off with cricket, gallery exhibition openings, a free concert, outdoor cinema and fabulous food.

A cricket extravaganza at Victoria Park Oval and the Big Shed will mark the beginning of a big weekend in the town.

From 10am-midday the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) will host coaching clinics for primary school children from across the region, followed by a sausage sizzle.

From 12.30pm-3pm see some of the region's best young cricketers in action with an Under 17 Mid North Twenty20 match.

The Bradman Invitational XI vs SACA All-stars Twenty20 game sponsored by West End is on from 3.30pm-7pm. It promises to be lots of fun and great entertainment with commentating, music and some great cricket.

See Redbacks coach Mark Sorrell pad up, along with Women's International Cricketer of the Year, Clare's Shelley Nitschke, local entertainer Danny Hooper and many other greats.

Stay on from 7pm for a great night out with a barbecue tea, marquee and music from popular South East entertainer Browny playing Cold Play, Kings of Leon and loads more popular music.

For a taste of what is ahead on the Bundaleer Forest Weekend program, there is a free concert in Memorial Park from 7pm featuring the Band of SA Police and local performers including Emily Zanker and Caitlin Randall.

Pack a chair or picnic rug, get together a group of friends and enjoy the first class entertainment.

Then settle in for the Flinders Film Society's outdoor cinema production, Local Produce. A selection of films by local film makers, made in and around the Flinders Ranges, rated PG.

Also on Friday night, head along to the Jamestown Town Hall for a good, old fashioned tavern meal and loads of fun.

Kick up your heels with local entertainer Danny Hooper performing from 6.30pm, as well as Emily Zanker performing throughout the evening.

Two meal sittings will be held, one at 6.30pm and one at 8.30pm. Book your spot and enjoy a choice of steak with mushroom or pepper sauce, or mixed special recipe chicken, a selection of salads and delicious homemade sweets.

At just $25 for adults or $12 for children it is a great value night of entertainment, with funds going to the upkeep of the Jamestown hydrotherapy pool.

Also enjoy delicious Bundaleer Wines and a selection of beers and soft drinks.
