It will be Simon's second appearance at Bundaleer Forest Weekend, having made his Australian debut at Bundaleer in 2007.
He is one of the most gifted and distinguished singers of his generation, establishing himself as a tenor in great demand on the international stage.
A principal artist with The Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the Salzburg Festival, Simon appears with such illustrious conductors as James Levine, Ricardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Sir Charles Mackerras and Seiji Ozawa.
Making his Opera Australia debut in Lady MacBeth of Mtsensk this year, Simon is booked out in world famous Opera Houses from La Scala to Bayreuth for the next several years.
Simon fell in love with Bundaleer Forest Weekend when he sang with fellow New Zealander Teddy Tahu Rhodes in 2007. He was determined to return to sing at Bundaleer in 2009 with celebrated Australian soprano Cheryl Barker.

Cheryl Barker performed in Baz Luhrmann's acclaimed La Boheme as well as singing for the Australian Opera, the English National Opera, Musica Viva and the State Opera of South Australia. Cheryl was hailed for her Opera Australia performances in Richard Strauss' Arabella in 2008.
On her 2009 schedule, right amidst Opera Bastille in Paris where she is currently performing Madame Butterfly, and the Sydney Opera House, and opera houses in the Netherlands and London, sits Bundaleer Forest Weekend where she will perform in the main twilight concert event on Saturday evening with Simon O'Neill.
The program will include operatic showstoppers from Nessun Dorma to Tonight from West Side Story.
Finish the evening with the sounds of Port Augusta-born, international jazz sensation Andy Firth and the Band of SA Police Dixieland jazz ensemble.
